Born in Texas and raised in Louisiana, Johnny Jimenez’s southern roots run deep. While both parents and Johnny were born Texans, his grandparents and generations before are all natives of Mexico. Wanting to stay true to his roots, Johnny adopted his nickname The Honky Tonk Mexican. Although his love for music began at an early age, he finally taught himself guitar, and literally stumbled into his first live gig on New Years Eve of 2016. After one show, Johnny quickly began being booked by venues every weekend. In 2019, while playing a well known venue in SW Louisiana, Marys Lounge, (The Last of the Honky Tonks) Johnny began meeting many it the areas most talented musicians. Thats when the Johnny Jimenez Band was formed. The next few years he began being booked throughout the south at large venues, festivals, and signing contracts for entertainment at casinos. Johnny has had the oppurtunity to open as support, and share same events with names such as Travis Tritt, Tracy Byrd, Ronnie Milsap, Gene Watson, Drake White, Frank Foster, and Wayne Toups. He has singles that landed on charts in Texas, Louisiana, and radio stations overseas. With his natural country “twang” Johnny is sure to bring a great show to your venue. He can please any crowd with just his vocals and guitar. For more info or booking reach out to us at thejohnnyjimenezband@gmail.com
